BCG vaccine is performed to prevent infection due to tubercle bacillus.
Tuberculosis is not past disease. More than 20000 patients occur every year.
As we cannot get resistance (immunity) for tuberculosis from mother, even newborn baby may be infected. When infants suffer from tuberculosis, it may become tuberculous meningitis and, having systemic tuberculosis, may leave heavy aftereffects. Therefore we are to receive inoculation of vaccine by 12 months after birth.
BCG uses live vaccine which weakened Mycobacterium bovis. There are red dots in place that we inoculated after the inoculation as normal reaction in 2-3 weeks and may have the sea small. We have scabs and are cured when we do for around four weeks. It is necessary to be over to the next vaccination for four weeks because it is necessary for about one month before we can immunise enough.
When trace of inoculation is oozing even if it is past three months after the inoculation, please talk with doctor.
Lymph node under the side of side that we inoculated may rarely swell up. You may see state, but we fester, and we very greatly swell up and rarely fester and are torn, and pus may usually appear. Please talk with doctor at such time.
When symptoms such as high heat or convulsions come out, please consult doctor immediately.
Schedule: We carry out through the year
Place: The prefecture designated medical institution (when you receive inoculation other than the prefecture designated medical institution, please contact health center palette beforehand)
The age of the month of inoculation
The inoculation number of times
Up to 1 year old after birth
※Please push forward inoculation with the chief physician after consultation.
※The age of the month targeted for inoculation becomes empty, but as there is "disseminated BCG infectious disease from head to foot", and judgment whether or not we have congenital immune deficiency disorder in the case of child for newborn baby and 1-2 months after birth is difficult, we inoculate into vice-reaction of BCG without noticing immunodeficiency, and, in regulations of vaccination, it may produce fatal systemic dissemination BCG infectious disease for 0 months after birth. The standard inoculation age of the month is from five months to eight months after birth to evade the risk.
